Running on empty as a coach? I’ve been there.

A few years back, despite helping countless clients find wellbeing, I found myself burnt out, overworked, and exhausted. Ironically, I was teaching embodiment and nervous system health while pushing myself too far behind the scenes.

Maybe you’ve felt this yourself: pouring energy into your clients, yet quietly struggling with your own overwhelm, stress, or health issues.

Eventually, with support from colleagues like Helen, I rediscovered a gentler, sustainable way of practising what I taught. No overnight fixes or magic bullets, just consistent, embodied practice, genuine community, and tools that actually stick.

The best coaches aren’t perfect, they’re real. Your lived experience is your greatest asset.

Want to help others flourish while deepening your own wellbeing?

If you’re feeling called to move beyond personal flourishing into professionally guiding others, our Embodied Flourishing Coach Certification could be what you’re looking for…

Over two years, you’ll first rebuild your own wellbeing, meaning, and resilience in a structured yet gentle way. In the second year, you’ll learn to confidently coach others to find deeper purpose, nervous system health, and genuine flourishing.

It’s a journey designed for people who care deeply to guide others toward meaningful, lasting change without burning out in the process.

If that sounds like what you need, and how you’d like to serve others, this could be for you…

What embodiment leaders say…

How does this work?

Real, lasting transformation- for yourself and your coaching clients – comes from consistent practice, mentoring, and community support. There are no quick fixes or unrealistic expectations.

You’ll have weekly live webinars every Thursday at 5pm UK time, which is 6pm CET, 12pm EDT, 9am PDT or 2am AEST. We’d expect you to attend 80% of these if you intend to certify. However, recordings are available for those you miss.

Purpose-driven coaching Support others in discovering authentic meaning and motivation.
Boundaries & relational skills: Help clients manage energy, time, and relationships confidently.

Bio

Mark Walsh teaches embodiment, trauma education and resilience.

He is the author of Embodiment, The Body in Training and Coaching, Embodied Meditation and People Un-Pleasing.

He hosts The Embodiment Coaching Podcast (2 million+ downloads), and led The Embodiment Conference (1000 teachers, 500,000 delegates). Seeing a theme yet?

He co-founded the Embodied Facilitator Course, and the online Certificate of Embodiment Coaching Course. He has certified over 2000 embodiment coaches, and taught workshops in over 40 countries.

Mark gained an honours in psychology, despite been an alcoholic at the time.

He has taught widely in the corporate world where he pretended to be a grown up for years, including with blue-chip companies (e.g. Google, Unilever, Shell, Axa, L’Oreal).

He has worked in war zones (including founding a trauma education charity in Ukraine), and entertained over 50,000 children.

Mark has headlined International Coach Federation events, lived with the circus and in slums, taught celebrities, and kissed a princess.

He's an aikido black belt, and also has 28 years of experience of other martial arts, with yoga, bodywork, improv comedy, conscious dance and meditation.

Embodiment is his obsession, life’s work, and frankly at this point he couldn’t get a job doing anything else.

Mark dances like your dad at a wedding, impresses cats with his stroking, and offends pirates with his swearing.

He is now tired of writing in the third person. It’s getting weird.

Bio

After a career as a doctor within the National Health Service, spanning 25 years, Helen retired as consultant psychiatrist due to health challenges in 2017.

Initially she found herself floundering in a new existence, with illness, pain and fatigue, and little idea how to help herself.

Having practised yoga on and off since the age of 16, she completed her teacher training and a array of other courses, including Spiritual Coaching, with Caroline Shola Arewa and Embodiment Coaching, with Embodiment Unlimited.

Helen's Yoga training was completed with Yoga Alliance International directly with Swami Vidyanand, and also with YogaCourse, YogaRenew. She deepened her training by working with Kristine Weber of Subtle Yoga since around 2018.

As a life-long learner, Helen has and continues to complete an array of other trainings.

Since retirement she's channelled her passion into holistic wellness: yoga, embodiment, building wellness and resilience.

She particularly likes working with people with persistent health issues, pain and fatigue.

Helen also supports people with stress, overwhelm and burnout (they are often the same people!)

She offers a blend of yoga, meditation, education, and embodiment exploration practices designed to promote wellness and resilience.

Sessions are crafted to be slow and mindful, fostering a deep connection within.

Whether you're new to yoga or have long standing experience, these practices are accessible.

Practices are all about developing your 'nervous system resilience'

How this certification is different

“Many of us coaches and helpers have shelves packed with half-finished courses and coaching resources gathering dust. Life gets chaotic, and it’s easy to lose momentum… especially when truly transformative growth takes time.

Maybe you’re drawn to help others, but worry you’re not perfectly ‘fixed’ yourself yet. Good news – you don’t need to be perfect! I certainly wasn’t (and still aren’t 😉). The truth is, our own struggles, burnout, or health issues often become our greatest assets as coaches. They help us deeply understand our clients’ journeys.

The Embodied Flourishing Coach Certification takes a realistic, gentle, and structured approach:

  • Year one focuses on your own embodied flourishing (because you can’t guide others where you haven’t travelled yourself).

  • Year two provides practical coaching skills, mentoring, and certification, so you confidently help clients build resilience, purpose, and lasting wellbeing.

Real growth and skill development take time. I took over a year to recover from burnout myself, and even longer to truly flourish. Helen also had her own long-term healing journey. But with sustained practice, community support, and steady guidance, you’ll see real change both personally and professionally.

Embodied Flourishing Coaching includes:

  • Weekly live sessions for gentle accountability and ongoing support.

  • Personal mentoring and peer groups during your second year to deepen your coaching confidence.

  • Manageable, practical coursework (just 1-2 hours a week in year two).

This certification is structured to be genuinely sustainable – no pressure, just steady progress and deepening skills. So if you’ve been craving an authentic way to both grow yourself and guide others, this might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

Let’s help others flourish – while having fun and deepening our own journeys, too.”

Frequently Asked Questions

The basics

Sure. And if you don’t want to become a coach, you may be more interested in the Embodied Flourishing membership here>>>

Well, in some sense we live in a burnt-out society. Like the taste of our own mouth or smell of our own house, we often don’t realise until we’re removed from that situation (hey holidays!).

But even if you’re not, this will help you enjoy life more now and help others suffering from burnout.

If you want to be certified as a coach, you’ll need to attend 80% of sessions. That’s because we need to know that you’re familiar with the content, plus you have demonstrated an ability to coach.

If you want to do the coaching track but have no intention of becoming a coach, then there’s no minimum attendance requirement.

We’ll need you to attend 80% of live sessions to know that you’re learning the content and also to see your progress as a coach.

Other than that, about 1-2 hours/week of practice outside of classes to cultivate your embodiment and coaching skills.

  • The core teachers and Mark Walsh and Dr. Helen Machen-Pearce.
  • Guest Specialists include Christina Dohr, Karin van Maanen, Jane Dancey, Carolina Padilla, Maša Nobilo and Patricia Aguirre.

Learn more about all the teachers here.

  • Frequency: A weekly call every Thursday at 5pm UK time (see the schedule), other than the 3-week integration break over Christmas / New Year’s.
  • Time Zones: 5pm UK time is 12pm ET, 9am PT or 2am AEST.
  • Recordings: Posted within 48 hours (often sooner), so you can watch anytime.

Fit & suitability

  • Beginner-Friendly: We cover foundational tools, so no experience is needed.
  • Advanced-Friendly: If you’re already seasoned, there’s deeper material (trauma-sensitive approaches, leadership) that will help you to unlock your potential.

Yes – Embodied Flourishing is designed to be flexible and supportive. In fact, it’s what we (Mark and Helen) wish we had when we were going through similar things.

We offer short, gentle practices you can adapt daily, even if you’re dealing with fatigue or health struggles.

  • Yes: Live sessions are great if you can attend, but you can also watch recordings whenever.
  • Short Practices: Many techniques can be done in just a few minutes each day. Small, consistent steps over two years can be deeply transformational.

No: We welcome all backgrounds and faiths.

While we discuss meaning and spiritual angles, there’s no single dogma. You choose what works for you.

No: This is an educational program, not a substitute for professional medical care.

We don’t diagnose or treat.

If you have serious trauma or health issues, we recommend external professional support.

Yes, with Care: We use a trauma-sensitive approach, but we’re not therapists.

If you’ve experienced significant trauma, please make sure you have the professional help you need, as embodied work goes deep, fast so can be triggering.

Mark (and Helen) value honesty and a bit of humour. Sometimes the jokes can be edgy.

If you believe in the concept of being offended, you may not enjoy this.

We respect everyone, but will joke about everyone, too 🙂

  • Live Calls + Community: You’re not left alone with a pile of videos you never watch. We provide real-time feedback and a supportive network.
  • Two-Year Arc: Quick-fix programs often fizzle when the sh*t hits the fan. This provides a gentler, sustainable approach that allows you to form lasting habits.

Yes: Our approach is practical, embodied and fun.

If you want to shag unicorns with your crystal chakra, you might not like our approach. However, if you find that image amusing, then you may not actually hate us 🙂

Payment, access & logistics

  • Yes: Everything’s recorded and typically posted within 48 hours.
  • Catch Up: If you’re swamped one week, just watch the replay later. Some members primarily rely on recordings and just drop in live if they need some extra support.

Yes, lifetime access to the recordings is a bonus for signing up now.

Everywhere: Parenting, relationships, deadline stress, daily annoyances.

The goal is to make deep, embodied shifts second nature in daily life.

Yes, we’ll certify you as a Purpose & Wellbeing Coach.

If you prefer to train as an embodiment coach and get 37 ICF CCE’s, we also offer our flagship Certification of Embodiment Coaching (CEC).

Sure, although we’d recommend for basic ethics to wait until you’ve been certified before you use with paying clients.

Along the way you’ll be encouraged to take on volunteers for a pressure-free way of learning.

  • Small Breakouts: We often use smaller group rooms during calls for deeper connection.
  • No Pressure: You can participate as much or as little as you like.

If you apply what you learn during your two-year journey and learn some basic marketing skills, you’ll more than likely make your money back after taking on several clients.

Yes. To certify we’ll require 1-2 hours/week of embodiment and coaching practice.

No, but we ask for minimum 80% attendance if you plan to certify as a coach so that we can track your progress.

  • Welcome Email: You’ll receive login details, a link to our learning platform, and any bonus material.
  • Next Steps: Check out intros, add live session dates to your calendar, and engage with the community space if you wish.

No problem – email Virginia on support@embodimentunlimited.com. We’d rather clear things up than have you miss a chance to flourish with us.
