“CEC had a huge impact by giving me tools that made my coaching so much more powerful.” — Fabiana Legradic, Coach (Switzerland)

Why embodiment coaching works

Talking brings insight. The body makes change usable under stress.

Under pressure, people revert to old patterns. That’s why we work with state: clients regain choice.

For your clients

It works when people are stressed

  • When life gets tense, logic alone doesn’t hold - people revert to defaults.
  • Body-first tools help clients settle enough to stay present and choose.
  • Sessions stop being “nice chats” and start creating visible shifts.

New habits stick between sessions

  • Small practices turn insight into behaviour (not just understanding).
  • Clients spot triggers earlier and recover faster, without forcing themselves.
  • Progress becomes less dependent on only the coaching session.

How you learn it

How you learn it (self-paced)

Structured training you can do on your schedule

  • Follow a clear path through the curriculum, so you’re not guessing what to do next.
  • Watch real teaching and demos, so you can see what “good” looks like.
  • Practise with suggested drills and prompts - without exams, marking, or feedback checks.

This is not passive watching. The point is repetition. You’ll be guided on what to practise and when, so the tools become usable under pressure.

Why this matters in an AI age:
AI can generate words and insight all day.
But coaching results often hinge on state - the moment someone gets stressed, tense, defensive, shut down, or overwhelmed.
Embodiment coaching trains the bit that can’t be outsourced: working with the body so change holds when it matters.

From theory to usable embodied coaching - at your pace

This is the CEC curriculum in self-paced form. Follow the same training arc through foundations, application, and integration - without live calls, exams, or certification. If you follow the suggested rhythm, it works out at roughly six months. If life is busy, take longer.

By the end you’ll be able to

  • Run embodied coaching sessions that help clients settle, focus, and move forward.
  • Use simple body-first tools in a trauma-aware way (without pushing people past their edge).
  • Choose the right tool in the moment - especially when clients get tense, defensive, shut down, or overwhelmed.
Embodiment coaching curriculum arc at a glance - foundations, application, integration
Curriculum arc - foundations → application → integration (self-paced).

Phase 1 - Foundations

Core regulation tools, embodied listening, and the key coaching moves that make this practical and safe.

Phase 2 - Application

Learn how to run sessions that work under pressure: pacing, cueing, edges, and picking interventions that land.

Phase 3 - Integration

Put it together into a repeatable session structure and a personal coaching style you can use with real clients.

A clear path - so you keep moving

Follow a structured progression through the material, with suggested pacing and “what to practise next” guidance.

Teaching + demos - so you can copy what works

Watch real examples of embodied coaching so you can see timing, language, and delivery - not just theory.

Practice prompts - no exams, no marking

You’ll get drills and micro-practices to build skill through repetition, without assessment or competence checking.

Client-ready tools from week one

Simple body-based techniques clients can use between sessions, so change sticks outside the call.

Who it’s for

For coaches and people who work with humans who want body-first, trauma-aware tools - in a format you can do on your schedule. This is self-paced curriculum access (no live calls, no exams, no certification).

Mark coaching a participant in a professional session

Best fit

  • You want to coach beyond talk - working with state, attention, and choice
  • You want tools that help clients handle stress without “trying harder”
  • You’ll practise the basics repeatedly (this is training, not content binging)
Embodied posture demonstrated in a small group

Also a fit

  • You teach, facilitate, train, lead, or support others - and want more than “communication skills”
  • You want effective practices clients can use between sessions
  • You want a clear framework you can apply straight away, even if you’re busy
Person walking outdoors, reflective moment

Probably not a fit

  • You specifically want a qualification, assessment, or certification badge
  • You want therapy training (this is coaching education, not clinical training)
  • You’re in acute crisis and need stabilisation support first
Not sure? Check the FAQ or email us and we’ll tell you honestly.

Access and suggested pace

This is self-paced. No live times, no attendance rules, no exams. Start when you like and work through the curriculum in your own rhythm.

Start now

You can begin today and keep going as life allows.

  • Watch lessons and recorded teaching sessions whenever suits you.
  • Repeat modules if you want it to land (no one is policing your progress).
  • Use the practice prompts to turn “knowing” into “doing”.

How long it takes

There’s a suggested rhythm, but no deadline.

  • Usual track: 4-5 hours/week gets you through in about 6 months.
  • Life is busy: take longer - you will not be kicked out for going slow.

The point is consistency, not intensity. The training is built to be revisited.

Community

Optional, student-led.

  • Access to a community space if you want to connect with others doing the training.
  • No organised peer groups and no trainer-led moderation promises here, but you can self-organise with others.
  • Use it as lightly or heavily as you like.

What embodiment leaders say

Respected voices on why embodied, trauma-aware practice matters — and how CEC turns principles into practical coaching tools.

Headshot of Dr Gabor Maté

Gabor Maté, MD

Physician & Author

“Embodiment is an essential component of healing, and Embodiment Unlimited does valuable work bringing its importance to the public. I have enjoyed working with this innovative organisation.”

So what? CEC makes embodiment a foundational, trauma-aware practice coaches can apply immediately.

Headshot of Dr Stephen Porges

Stephen Porges, PhD

Originator, Polyvagal Theory

“Challenges to our safety make us strangers in our own body. Embodiment Unlimited provides important resources informing individuals about practices leading to an effective ‘re-embodiment’ that enhances mental and physical health.”

So what? CEC trains re-embodiment tools that help clients regulate and build safety, aligned with the Polyvagal perspective.

Headshot of Jamie Catto

Jamie Catto

Author & Facilitator

“The embodied work Mark and the team do is both creative and practical. As a facilitator I get a lot from teaching alongside them and love the mix of humour and pragmatism.”

So what? Expect an approach that’s creative and grounded, with pragmatic skills you can use in rooms with real people.

Why I love training coaches

Training embodiment coaches is my core work. It’s what we do best.

My mission is simple A saner, kinder, more embodied world. That starts with coaches who can actually help build it.

CEC (and this self-paced version of it) is built to be practical. You’ll practise, get feedback, and leave with tools you can use with real people.

Note that we’re practical and a bit playful. If you want something ultra-spiritual or endlessly abstract, you’ll hate it.

Time-wise: plan for about 4-5 hours a week if you want the full benefit.

“Coaching became more precise and effective. Clients now achieve their goals in a shorter time and fewer sessions.” — Avi Peled, Coach and group facilitator (Israel)

— Mark Walsh, Founder and lead trainer

Designed to be doable

Self-paced learning often fails for one reason: no structure. This keeps it simple: a clear arc, practical prompts, and lots of examples you can copy.

Clear “what next” path Short practice prompts Demos you can model Repeatable session structure

Why you’ll actually use it

  • It’s not theory-heavy. You get tools you can run the same day with a client (or on yourself).
  • It’s built for rewatching. Timing, language, pacing - you can pause, rewind, and steal what works.
  • Practice is bite-sized. Short drills that fit into a normal week, without turning your life into a monastery.
  • It’s organised. You always know what to watch and what to practise next - no wandering around the portal.

What this is (and isn’t)

This is the CEC curriculum and recorded teaching in self-paced form. It is designed for learning and application - without the certification infrastructure.

Quick reality check (so you’re not disappointed)
  • Included: curriculum, lessons, recorded teaching sessions (as-is), demos, practice prompts, optional community space.
  • Not included: live calls, live Q and A, personal feedback, marking, exams, certification, ICF CCE hours.
  • If you want the full track later: you can upgrade and use $500 of what you paid as credit towards CEC.

If you want a simple promise: you’ll leave with a repeatable way to work with state so sessions don’t collapse the moment someone gets tense, defensive, shut down, or overwhelmed.

Included extras

You’re getting the curriculum and the recorded teaching. These extras help you apply it in the real world - and keep an easy upgrade path if you want the live certification later.

FAQ

The practical questions people ask before getting the self-paced CEC curriculum.

Is this the full CEC certification?

No. This is the CEC curriculum in self-paced form.

You get the teaching content and demos. You do not get live calls, marking, formal assessment, or a certification outcome.

How long do I get access for?

Access is provided through our platform and is intended to be long-term.

Practical reality: platforms change over time. If we ever migrate systems, we aim to move your access across. We cannot guarantee “forever” in a legal sense, but the intention is ongoing access.

How long does it take to do properly?

If you follow a steady rhythm, many people work through it in about six months.

A sensible baseline is 4-5 hours a week: watch a lesson, practise the tools, and run experiments with clients (or practice partner). If life is busy, take longer.

Do I need to do every exercise, reading, and practice task?

No. There’s no one checking.

If you want to do it thoroughly, you can follow the full arc: watch, practise, reflect, repeat. If you’re time-poor, focus on the core: regulation, embodied listening, and a small set of client-ready interventions.

This is skills training. The more reps you do, the more it becomes usable under pressure.

Is there a community?

Yes - you’ll have access to a community area for self-paced students.

How does the $500 credit towards live CEC work?

If you later decide you want the live cohort experience, you can apply $500 credit towards the live CEC tuition.

Valid for 12 months from the date you purchase the self-paced version.

You’re effectively paying part of the live course in advance, while still getting the self-paced training now.

Do you offer instalments?

Yes. If instalments aren’t available at checkout for this product, we can set up a custom plan.

Email support@embodimentunlimited.com and tell us what would make it workable.

I have a trauma history - is this suitable?

The material is trauma-aware and emphasises scope, safety, pacing, and ethics. It is not therapy and it is not clinical training.

If you are currently in acute distress or struggling to stay resourced day to day, prioritise stabilisation and support first. If unsure, email us and we’ll tell you honestly.

Will this help me earn more as a coach?

We don’t make income promises.

Practically: people use embodiment skills to get better results, increase retention and referrals, and feel more confident charging appropriately. Outcomes depend on your niche, ethics, and how much you practise and apply.

Who is this best for?

People who work with humans and want coaching tools that hold up when clients are stressed: coaches, therapists (within scope), facilitators, leaders, trainers, and bodyworkers who want a clear coaching frame.

If you want a quick certificate without practice - this isn’t that. This is training material you have to actually use.

What’s the teaching style like?

Practical, direct, and grounded. Plenty of demos and “here’s what to do on Monday with a real client”.

Also: Mark occasionally swears. If that’s a hard no, better to skip.

Can I use the tools with clients without crediting every time?

Yes. Use them with clients.

If you’re teaching publicly (workshops, trainings), attribution is appreciated. In 1-to-1 coaching, it’s not required.

Are there extra books or classes I have to buy?

No required purchases.

We recommend a few books. Some people buy them, some borrow them, some ignore them.

Some experiments involve trying things in the real world. You might choose to pay for an occasional class (yoga, martial arts, dance, etc.) but nothing expensive is designed into the programme.

If you want to do this extensively, you can. If you just want the core tools, you can do that too.

New here - what is embodiment coaching, in one paragraph?

Coaching that works with mind and body together. Beyond talk alone, it uses simple state-shifters (breath, posture, gaze, micro-movement, attention) so clients regulate under pressure, learn faster, and turn insight into action.

How do I become an embodiment coach?

Learn the skills, practise with real humans, and get feedback somewhere (peers, supervision, a live training, or your own client work).

This self-paced programme gives you the curriculum and demos. If you want live practice and a formal certification path, that’s what the live CEC is for.

Is this a somatic coaching course online?

Yes - it’s an online training in embodied and somatic coaching methods.

This self-paced version is training material (lessons + demos), not a certification or credential.

Habt ihr Unterstützung auf Deutsch? (Embodiment Coaching Ausbildung)

Ja. Ein Teil unseres Teams spricht Deutsch und unterstützt DACH-Teilnehmer:innen.

Hinweis: Die self-paced Version ist Lernmaterial (Lektionen + Demos) - keine Live-Calls und keine Zertifizierung.

What happens after I join?

You’ll get a confirmation email and immediate platform access.

You can start anywhere, but we recommend following the arc in order (foundations → application → integration).
