We live in a time where many feel overwhelmed and cut off from themselves. Genuine, authentic connection has become rare. This matters.
In reducing the body to a commodity, we’ve lost meaning, wellbeing, and our shared humanity, too.
Mental health struggles are common, yet our leaders seem too out of touch to provide meaningful solutions. It’s no wonder many of us feel powerless, drained or stuck.
If you’re feeling disheartened, well… you’re not alone. Sadly we live in a numb, disembodied culture.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. Change is possible, and it starts with us.
Even in challenging times, there’s hope.
The world needs many things, but at the heart of many of them is coming home to our bodies. When we’re grounded in the body, we rediscover clarity, connection, and what truly matters.
The body is more than a “brain taxi” – it’s a gateway. Through it, we find harmony, peace, and connection with ourselves, each other, and the world around us.
The body anchors us to our values. It’s also the key to wellbeing and meaning, which is what The Embodiment Festival is all about.
This free-to-all journey through the world’s embodied wisdom, will give you personal resilience, professional tools and collective growth. You’re invited.
At The Embodiment Festival you’ll connect with a diverse global community who share the vision of a kinder, more connected world.
We want to support you to flourish in 2025. Every teacher at the festival will share a practical tool to help you enhance your wellbeing or uncover deeper meaning in your life.
You’ll also learn our top 3 embodiment coaching tools – developed by training more embodiment coaches than anyone else – and even have the chance to receive free coaching.
Imagine starting 2025 with a renewed sense of wellbeing and purpose. With this you’ll cultivate deeper relationships, work in alignment with your values, and live a healthier, more meaningful life.
This vision is within reach. The Embodiment Festival offers practical tools and uplifting inspiration to help you to make it a reality.
Join us for a fun, transformative week, that’ll set you up to flourish in 2025.
“Sometimes I get a little down when I look at the world.
Whether it’s war abroad or the endemic mental ill-health I see daily at home, it’s hard not to just cry sometimes, isn’t it?
I find what helps though is doing something rather than nothing, and I know embodiment tools work.
The Ukrainians I work with say they help, the coaches I train say they help, and frankly, they’re what gets me through the day quite often.
As ever, a disembodied world is a cruel and crazy world, and while much is needed, “coming home to the body” is a great start.
I also see students really benefit from the embodiment tools we teach, so I’m confident all the “quick-wins” at this event are worth your time. I couldn’t imagine not being “tooled up” right now, actually.
Different things work for different people, though, so a range of perspectives and techniques is good. I’m lucky enough to know a bunch of great people in the embodiment space, so I hope this little festival brings you some wise elders and fresh faces.
Oh, and despite everything, maybe BECAUSE of everything, let’s have a good time doing it, eh?” 🙂

As soon as you sign up you’ll be sent replays of all of these sessions to watch in your own time from January 17-19.
You’ll find teachers from many different modalities and practices. Expect a range of perspectives and insights.
Mark Walsh teaches embodiment, trauma education and resilience.
He is the author of Embodiment, The Body in Training and Coaching, Embodied Meditation and People Un-Pleasing.
He hosts The Embodiment Coaching Podcast (2 million+ downloads), and led The Embodiment Conference (1000 teachers, 500,000 delegates). Seeing a theme yet?
He co-founded the Embodied Facilitator Course, and the online Certificate of Embodiment Coaching Course. He has certified over 2000 embodiment coaches, and taught workshops in over 40 countries.
Mark gained an honours in psychology, despite been an alcoholic at the time.
He has taught widely in the corporate world where he pretended to be a grown up for years, including with blue-chip companies (e.g. Google, Unilever, Shell, Axa, L’Oreal).
He has worked in war zones (including founding a trauma education charity in Ukraine), and entertained over 50,000 children.
Mark has headlined International Coach Federation events, lived with the circus and in slums, taught celebrities, and kissed a princess.
He's an aikido black belt, and also has 28 years of experience of other martial arts, with yoga, bodywork, improv comedy, conscious dance and meditation.
Embodiment is his obsession, life’s work, and frankly at this point he couldn’t get a job doing anything else.
Mark dances like your dad at a wedding, impresses cats with his stroking, and offends pirates with his swearing.
He is now tired of writing in the third person. It’s getting weird.

After a career as a doctor within the National Health Service, spanning 25 years, Helen retired as consultant psychiatrist due to health challenges in 2017.
Initially she found herself floundering in a new existence, with illness, pain and fatigue, and little idea how to help herself.
Having practised yoga on and off since the age of 16, she completed her teacher training and a array of other courses, including Spiritual Coaching, with Caroline Shola Arewa and Embodiment Coaching, with Embodiment Unlimited.
Helen's Yoga training was completed with Yoga Alliance International directly with Swami Vidyanand, and also with YogaCourse, YogaRenew. She deepened her training by working with Kristine Weber of Subtle Yoga since around 2018.
As a life-long learner, Helen has and continues to complete an array of other trainings.
Since retirement she's channelled her passion into holistic wellness: yoga, embodiment, building wellness and resilience.
She particularly likes working with people with persistent health issues, pain and fatigue.
Helen also supports people with stress, overwhelm and burnout (they are often the same people!)
She offers a blend of yoga, meditation, education, and embodiment exploration practices designed to promote wellness and resilience.
Sessions are crafted to be slow and mindful, fostering a deep connection within.
Whether you're new to yoga or have long standing experience, these practices are accessible.
Practices are all about developing your 'nervous system resilience'

I broke.
And for the last 12 years, I’ve lived inside that pain - studying it, feeling it, and learning how to deeply surrender. I’ve immersed myself in the raw reality of what it means to be human, to be a man, and go deep into vulnerability without losing strength.
I am a father who fought to feel his feelings; deeply.
Now, I guide men, women and children to do the same; empowering them to safely surrender into the wild art of being human, to live the life they deserve to live, feel and love.

He also originated The Embodied Present Process (TEPP), which is taught online as well as in workshops, retreats and Facilitators Trainings worldwide. As people recover the intimacy of true presence, they soften into the deeper intelligence of the body, reconnect with purpose, and discover a new kind of freedom and possibility in their lives.

Bayo Akomolafe (Ph.D.), rooted with the Yoruba people in a more-than-human world, is the father to Alethea Aanya and Kyah Jayden Abayomi, the grateful life-partner to EJ, son and brother. A widely celebrated international speaker, posthumanist thinker, poet, teacher, self-styled ‘trans-public’ intellectual, essayist, and author of two books, These Wilds Beyond our Fences: Letters to My Daughter on Humanity’s Search for Home (North Atlantic Books) and We Will Tell our Own Story: The Lions of Africa Speak (along with Professors Molefi Kete Asante and Augustine Nwoye), Bayo Akomolafe is the visionary founder of The Emergence Network, a planet-wide networking project and inquiry at the edges of the Anthropocene that seeks to convene new kinds of responsivities, sensuous solidarities, and experimental practices for a posthumanist parapolitics. He is host of the postactivist course/festival/event, ‘We Will Dance with Mountains’ and curator of Dancing with Mountains, the educational consultation. He currently lectures at Pacifica Graduate Institute, California – and, in November 2024, was appointed the Hubert Humphrey Distinguished Professor of American Studies at Macalester College, USA. He sits on the Board of many organizations.
In July 2022, Dr. Akomolafe was appointed the inaugural Global Senior Fellow of University of California’s (Berkeley) Othering and Belonging Institute. He is also the inaugural W. E. B. Du Bois Scholar in Residence for Trans-public Intellectualism at the Schumacher Centre for a New Economics, the Inaugural Scholar in Residence for the Aspen Institute, the inaugural Special Fellow for the Council of an Uncertain Human Future, as well as Visiting Scholar to Clark University, Massachusetts, USA (2024). He has been Fellow for The New Institute in Hamburg, Germany, Visiting Critic-in-Residence for the Otis College of Art and Design, Los Angeles (2023), and 2025 Hildegarde and Elbert Baker Visiting Scholar in the Humanities to Case Western Reserve University, Ohio, and an Expert Consultant for the Futures Literacy section at the UNESCO headquarters, Paris. He was named Centenary Philosopher (Scots Philosophical Association) by the University of Dundee in March 2024.
Dr. Akomolafe graduated summa cum laude in Psychology from Covenant University (Nigeria) in 2006, becoming the first to complete his undergraduate studies with first class honours from the College of Human Development. He has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Covenant University in Nigeria (2014). He is the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate from the California Institute of Integral Studies (2023) and has been Commencement Speaker at two universities convocation events (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0teyqf0AAg / https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lh2QmobEMFg). He is also the recipient of the New Thought Leadership Award 2021 and the Excellence in Ethnocultural Psychotherapy Award by the African Mental Health Summit 2022. In a ceremony in July 2023, the City of Portland (Maine, USA) awarded Dr. Akomolafe with the symbolic ‘Key to the City’ in recognition of his planet-wide work and achievements.
A frequent keynote speaker and guest lecturer, Dr. Akomolafe has been taught, and has been a guest, at Harvard University (USA), Simon Fraser University (Vancouver, Canada), Schumacher College (Totnes, England), Swaraj University (India), Middlebury College (Vermont), Sonoma State University (CA, USA), Duke University (North Carolina, USA), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), University of Massachusetts Amherst (USA), Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (USA), Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, Ohio, USA), Tufts University (Boston, USA), the University of Turin (Turin, Italy), among others. Central to Dr. Akomolafe’s explorations is his critically popular expression, “the times are urgent, let us slow down”, with which he attempts to frame new concepts (such as ontofugitivity, the Afrocene, iatropolitics, curapoiesis, white syncopation, ecocognitive assemblage theory, cybomarronage, postactivism and parapolitics) that reframe and renaturalize human action, agency, and responsibility in an immanent, agonistic worlding of possibilities for life-death.
Drawing inspiration from Edouard Glissant, Gilles Deleuze, Gregory Bateson, Maurice Blanchot, Octavia Butler, Fernand Deligny, Chinua Achebe, and the still-ongoing adventures of the Yoruba monster-trickster and crossroads figure, Èsù, Bayo seeks to organize an always creolizing planetary, para-political process of the carnivalesque that is alive to minor gestures, open to sensorial mutiny and ontological apostasy, and committed to the formulation of new modes of encountering a more-than-human planet.
Dr. Bayo Akomolafe’s work is widely published, cited, and – much to his delight – very often transmuted into song, lyrics, theatrical performances, poetry, paintings, public installations, and even a publicly accessible, quirky bench from reclaimed wood in Detroit, Michigan. He has appeared on innumerable podcasts, radio interviews, and television programs (most notably being the focus of a lengthy interview and secondary segments exploring his thought on Swiss public television, SRF); and, he has been featured in several film documentaries including the award-winning ‘Regenerar: Possible Paths on a Damaged Planet’ (2022), ‘Where We Find Ourselves’ by Darren Bender (2025), ‘Closer to Home: Voices of Hope in a Time of Crisis’ (2024), and ‘Three Black Men’ (2025), in which Bayo travels around the world in the company of two other Black public intellectuals and leaders to enunciate an end-time emancipatory vocation of blackness during perilous times. A feature documentary focused entirely on Dr. Bayo Akomolafe’s work, life, and thought is being developed, called ‘The Times are Urgent, Let Us Slow Down’.
Dr. Akomolafe is a Member of the Club of Rome and an Ambassador for the Wellbeing Economy Alliance. He is currently writing is third book, ‘An Ocean of Milk: Morality, Desire, and the Monster at the Edge of the World’.

Charna’s work allows her to see past people’s old habits and conditioned ways of being, and help them develop new skills in attunement, boundary setting, softening, and receiving. This is when she feels most aligned with her purpose on this planet.
Charna Cassell is actively creating online courses in self-regulation, living a pleasure-filled life, and healing from trauma to make this work more accessible around the world.

With over 50,000 hours of experience in circle work, Christian has pioneered a unique approach to group facilitation that taps into the emergence of collective wisdom.
