So you’ve got some trauma, what next?

Bringing up the past over and over is almost never useful.

Addressing trauma as it shows up today and focusing on the body can help you move beyond sneaky patterns holding you back.

And if you work professionally with others, sorting your own patterns out (and learning to spot them in others) makes a huge difference to your work.

Less trauma = a better life

Healing trauma will help you feel happier, have more harmonious relationships, and make more of a difference in the world.

You can embrace everything weird and wonderful that makes you unique, and turn your biggest flaws into authentic strengths.

Less trauma = even better facilitation

And if you’re a facilitator, teacher or coach – overcoming your trauma will help you understand your clients and respond more effectively, allowing you to take what you do to the next level.

About this course

Trauma Is Your Superpower helps you transform the worst things that have happened to you into your greatest gifts for helping yourself and others.

This course is unique because it not only gives you practical models and techniques to transform your trauma, but also tells the inside stories of facilitators who have also made this journey.

While your trauma healing will likely be different to theirs, listening to them will give you powerful insights and direction to help you as you learn and grow.

Where most trauma courses aim to help you get to ‘good enough’, this course focuses on helping you go beyond what you thought was possible in your life.

Mark Walsh

CEO @ Embodiment Unlimited

“A few years back...

I started noticing that a lot of the really great facilitators I know had some pretty rough backgrounds. They had to work through a lot to get to where they are today.

Talking to my mentor Paul Linden, and friend, Ilan Stephani, I realised that the healing journey they’d been on to overcome their own patterns eventually led them to being the great facilitators they are today.

I also saw facilitators who were not meeting their full potential hadn’t gone as far on their trauma healing journeys. And this led to people who were still being a bit too nice, not able to take up space, or whatever it was for them personally.

When they worked on their trauma, all of a sudden they started kicking some major butt! And more than that, these things that were holding them back became unique skills that helped their facilitation. Or as I like to call them – their ‘superpowers’.

This course has inspiring talks from some of the best facilitators I know, showing what worked for them so you can start applying some of this stuff to your own life. It’s got tons of learning and insights from Ilan Stephani, and with the support of a group of other facilitators on a similar journey to you – it’s the perfect way to take your facilitation (and life) to the next level.”

Course leaders

Rather than just teaching you techniques, our teachers will also share deeply personal stories of transformation to inspire you to find your unique superpower

Ilan Stephani

Intimacy Teacher & Embodied Facilitator

From sex worker to trauma educator

Ilan grew up privileged and well educated, with loving parents and financial stability in one of the safest countries in the world. Yet she was unhappy, exhausted and afraid until her mid-20s. There was no big catastrophe in her life, yet she knew suffering, pain and secret self-hatred all too well. But when she discovered embodied practices for addressing trauma, her life changed. She discovered that all of these inexplicable symptoms were rooted in her low-level developmental trauma. Symptoms many of us share today. Ilan is an intimacy teacher, embodied facilitator, speaker and researcher in trauma, sexuality, health and embodiment, and dedicates her life to understanding how we can recover from past wounds and live unapologetically in the now.

Embodiment Facilitator

From instability to supporting young women

By age 11, Jane had lived in 7 countries and attended 7 schools, leaving a trail of loss and unsteady attachments very early on in her life. Jane’s trauma healing journey in accepting herself informs her work with women of all ages; from girls journeying through menstruation and puberty, women experiencing pelvic health challenges and disconnection, to those struggling with menopause. She’s a passionate advocate for women having a positive experience of their bodies. She is a certified Embodiment Facilitator, a trained Rites of Passage Facilitator, Somatic Coach, a senior Embodied Yoga Principles Teacher and a mum to a beautiful teenage girl.

Melissa Gutierrez

Facilitator

From gang violence to body witch

Melissa’s strength has been forged by childhood violence, toxic relationships, financial insecurity, organized religion and harmful type-A perfectionism. Over time, Mel learned that explicit demonstrations of self-love and honest self-expression were the keys to moving beyond her trauma story for herself and for others. Today, Melissa is a health and wellness coach who teaches her clients and students how to reclaim their personal power through movement. Melissa is dedicated to helping people live their dreams by showing them how to use the magic within their bodies and connecting to their intuition. This is how she teaches others to heal their physical, emotional and spiritual wounds.

Paul Linden

Trauma educator

From childhood trauma to world-leading facilitator

We really want to make this work available to as many people as possible as we think it’s hugely important, so we’ve created some places at reduced prices because not everybody can afford as much as they’d like right now.

FAQs

The first package is entirely self-paced and can be started the moment you make the purchase. However, package 2 and 3 have some live elements including Q&A’s and group calls. Both Q&A’s and the group calls will begin in October and we’ll send you an email closer to the time with all the details of how to access them.

We understand that you’re probably busy, so we broke the course content into tiny bite-sized steps that you can work through at your own pace. We’ve also made many of the videos into audio content, so you can learn on-the-go at your own pace.

We want to make the private groups a safe space for everyone to share. With trauma being such a sensitive subject, we won’t be recording these sessions to help everyone on the call live feel more comfortable opening up.

The smallest package includes Ilan’s Moving Beyond Trauma content and is 3 hours long. Whereas the bigger packages have considerably more content. The amount of time you invest in repeating the practices and coming back to the content is entirely up to you, but for the facilitators – you’ll need to put at least an hour a week aside for the live calls in October if you want to make the most of the course.

No. The live peer groups with up to 25 people are like a mastermind group, not therapy. You’ll discuss topics and share insights with other facilitators on a similar level to you.

Yes! The best and most experienced facilitators know the more you learn about your trauma, the better facilitator you will be. They continue to learn, grow and improve in order to keep levelling up as a facilitator.

You’re welcome to come to more than one group if you wish at an additional cost. Just email support@embodimentunlimited.com

You can join the “Understand clients trauma” package if you aren’t a facilitator as this will give you great insights into how trauma impacts you personally. However, the “Gain trauma superpowers” package is just for facilitators.

Yes. The “Understand clients trauma” package and “Gain trauma superpowers” package both have live elements.

Understand clients trauma package: 2 x Q&A’s to address professional issues.

Gain trauma superpowers package: 6 weeks of tutor-led peer group calls.

Forever! Once you buy this course, it’s yours to keep referring to whenever you need it.

Throughout the course you will be prompted to reflect on the topics covered in the videos as a way to maximise your learning and integration.

We’ve created this journal solely for this purpose, so we won’t ask to check it at any time. You will be able to print it out or simply use it as inspiration for your own personal journaling. If you find this helpful, you may wish to continue to journal daily even after the course has ended. After all, it’s yours to keep!

The course is very accessible, so you don’t need any equipment. All our practical advice and exercise will be easily installed into your day, wherever you are. There are also no requirements for your mobility or advanced physical state.

This course is for what we like to call ‘small ‘t’ trauma’ and is not suitable for anyone suffering from severe PTSD, postnatal depression, or any other serious trauma issues.

If this is you, we recommend seeing a therapist or consulting your GP to get the help you need.

If you need support during the learning process, you can always reach out with any questions to our fantastic customer support team  at support@embodimentunlimited.com.
